  • Prokaryotic Cell DNA: Location and Nucleoid Explained
Prokaryotic cells do not have a nucleus. Instead, their genetic information is contained within a nucleoid.

The nucleoid is a region within the cytoplasm where the cell's DNA is located. It's not a membrane-bound organelle like the nucleus in eukaryotic cells, but rather a concentrated area of DNA.
