    2. Meiosis: This process is responsible for creating gametes (sex cells like sperm and egg). It involves two rounds of division, resulting in four daughter cells with half the number of chromosomes as the parent cell. This reduction in chromosome number is crucial for sexual reproduction.

    * DNA Replication: Before dividing, a cell copies its entire genome, ensuring that each daughter cell receives a complete set of genetic information.

    * Organelles: The cell's organelles also replicate during cell division, ensuring that each daughter cell is equipped to function properly.
