Transport tissue is a characteristic feature of plants. It is responsible for transporting water, nutrients, and sugars throughout the plant. There are two types of transport tissue:
* Xylem: Transports water and dissolved minerals upwards from the roots to the rest of the plant.
* Phloem: Transports sugars produced by photosynthesis from the leaves to other parts of the plant.
Animals, on the other hand, have a circulatory system for transporting substances throughout their bodies. This system consists of a heart, blood vessels, and blood.
While both plants and animals need to transport substances, they have evolved different mechanisms to achieve this.
