Here's how it works:
1. Sunlight: Plants use energy from the sun.
2. Carbon Dioxide: They take in carbon dioxide from the air through tiny holes called stomata on their leaves.
3. Water: They absorb water from the soil through their roots.
4. Chlorophyll: This green pigment inside the plant helps capture the sunlight's energy.
The plant then combines the sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to create glucose (a type of sugar) and oxygen. The glucose is the plant's food, providing it with energy to grow. The oxygen is released back into the air.
So, instead of "eating" food like animals do, plants make their own food using sunlight, air, and water.
