  • Kidneys & Skin: The Primary Organs of the Excretory System
The two main organs of the excretory system are the kidneys and the skin.

    * Kidneys: Filter waste products from the blood and produce urine.

    * Skin: Excretes sweat, which helps to regulate body temperature and remove some waste products.

While the liver and lungs are also important for excretion, they are not typically considered part of the excretory system. The liver filters toxins and the lungs expel carbon dioxide, but their primary functions are different.
