  • Major Gene Sequencing Projects: A Comprehensive Overview
There isn't one single project that sequenced all genes. The field of genetics has seen many different projects that focused on sequencing genes. Here are a few prominent examples:

    * The Human Genome Project (HGP): This is likely the most well-known project. Launched in 1990, it aimed to map and sequence all of the genes in the human genome. It was completed in 2003.

    * The 1000 Genomes Project: This project aimed to catalogue the genetic variations in a diverse group of people to get a better understanding of human genetic diversity. It was completed in 2015.

    * The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA): This project focuses on sequencing the genomes of different types of cancer cells to understand the genetic basis of cancer and develop new treatments.

    * ENCODE (Encyclopedia of DNA Elements): This project focuses on identifying and characterizing all the functional elements of the human genome, going beyond just genes to include regulatory elements.

    * The HapMap Project: This project aimed to identify common patterns of human genetic variation, known as haplotypes.

There are also many other projects focusing on specific genes, species, or organisms.

The field of genomics is constantly evolving, with new sequencing technologies and projects emerging all the time.
