  • Chloroplasts: The Powerhouse of Photosynthesis in Cells
The part of the cell that produces food through photosynthesis is the chloroplast.

    Here's why:

    * Chloroplasts are organelles found in plant cells and some algae.

    * They contain chlorophyll, a green pigment that captures light energy from the sun.

    * This light energy is used to convert carbon dioxide and water into glucose (sugar), which is the cell's food source, and oxygen as a byproduct.

    * This process is called photosynthesis.

So, while the entire cell benefits from the food produced through photosynthesis, the chloroplast is the specific organelle responsible for carrying out this essential process.
