  • Plant Vascular System: How Water & Nutrients are Transported
The tissue system that conducts water and nutrients in a plant is the vascular tissue system.

This system is composed of two main types of tissues:

    * Xylem: Transports water and dissolved minerals upwards from the roots to the rest of the plant.

    * Phloem: Transports sugars produced during photosynthesis from the leaves to other parts of the plant for growth and storage.

Together, xylem and phloem form a network of tubes that run throughout the plant, allowing for efficient transport of essential substances.
