  • Centrioles: Key Players in Cell Division and Reproduction
The part near the nucleus that helps with reproduction is the centriole.

    Here's why:

    * Centrioles are small, cylindrical structures found in animal cells (and some plant cells). They are located near the nucleus and are involved in the formation of the spindle fibers during cell division.

    * Spindle fibers are essential for separating chromosomes during both mitosis (normal cell division) and meiosis (the process of forming gametes, or sex cells).

    * Meiosis is the specific type of cell division that leads to the creation of eggs (in females) and sperm (in males), which are necessary for sexual reproduction.

Therefore, while not directly participating in the act of reproduction itself, centrioles play a crucial role in the formation of the cells that are responsible for reproduction.
