  • Budding: Understanding Asexual Reproduction in Organisms
    Offspring which arise as a contiguous outgrowth of the parent are called budding.

    Budding is a form of asexual reproduction where a new organism develops from an outgrowth or bud due to cell division at a specific site. The bud eventually detaches from the parent organism and becomes an independent individual.

    Examples of organisms that reproduce through budding include:

    * Yeast

    * Hydra

    * Sponges

    * Some types of plants
