  • Understanding Biological Communities: Species and Ecosystems
The organisms of ALL species in a given area are known as a community.

    Here's why:

    * Community: A community refers to all the different populations of species that live and interact within a specific geographic area.

    * Population: A population is a group of individuals of the same species living in the same area.

    * Ecosystem: An ecosystem includes the community of organisms (biotic factors) along with their physical environment (abiotic factors).

So, a community is a part of an ecosystem, focusing specifically on the living components.
