* Nucleus: This is the primary location for DNA in eukaryotic cells (cells with a nucleus). The DNA is organized into chromosomes, which are tightly packed structures made up of DNA and proteins.
* Mitochondria: These organelles, which are responsible for energy production, also contain their own DNA, called mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). mtDNA is circular and has a smaller number of genes compared to the DNA in the nucleus.
So, while the majority of DNA is in the nucleus, there is also a small amount of DNA present in the mitochondria.
