* mRNA (messenger RNA) carries the genetic code from DNA in the nucleus to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm.
* tRNA acts as a "translator" between the mRNA code and the amino acids. Each tRNA molecule has a specific anticodon that complements a codon on the mRNA strand.
* The tRNA molecule also carries a specific amino acid that corresponds to the anticodon.
* During translation, the tRNA molecules bring the appropriate amino acids to the ribosome, where they are joined together to form a polypeptide chain, which ultimately folds into a protein.
