  • Embryonic Skeleton: The Role of Cartilage in Development
    The skeleton of an embryo is composed almost entirely of a type of connective tissue called cartilage.

    Cartilage is a flexible and strong tissue that provides support and structure during development. As the embryo grows, most of this cartilage will be replaced by bone through a process called endochondral ossification.
