* Somatic Cells: These are all the cells in your body except for sperm and egg cells (germ cells). They contain a complete copy of your DNA, but they are not the only cells with DNA.
* Germ Cells: These cells are responsible for reproduction. They only contain half of your DNA, and they are specifically designed to combine with a germ cell from another individual to create a complete set of DNA for a new offspring.
Therefore, while somatic cells contain a complete copy of your DNA, they do not hold all of it. Some of your DNA is also present in your germ cells.
