  • Plant Cell Structures vs. Human Cheek Cells: Chloroplasts & Cell Walls
The two structures not present in a human cheek cell but would be found in a French bean leaf cell are:

    1. Chloroplasts: These are the organelles responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy. Human cells do not perform photosynthesis and thus lack chloroplasts.

    2. Cell Wall: Plant cells have a rigid cell wall made of cellulose that provides structural support and protection. Animal cells, like cheek cells, do not have a cell wall.
