  • Plant vs. Animal Cells: Understanding Cell Walls
A cell wall is found in plant cells, not animal cells.

    Here's why:

    * Plant cells need a rigid structure to maintain their shape and provide support, especially as they grow and absorb water. The cell wall is made of cellulose, a strong and rigid material that helps achieve this.

    * Animal cells lack a cell wall because they don't need the same level of structural support. Their internal cytoskeleton provides enough shape and flexibility.
