  • Cellular Respiration & Waste Products: Understanding Carbon Dioxide
Cells produce many waste products, but a very common and important one is carbon dioxide (CO2).

    Here's why:

    * Cellular Respiration: Cells obtain energy from food through a process called cellular respiration. A key part of this process is the breakdown of glucose (sugar) in the presence of oxygen. Carbon dioxide is produced as a byproduct of this breakdown.

    * Waste Removal: Carbon dioxide is a waste product that needs to be removed from the cell. It diffuses out of the cell and is eventually expelled from the body through breathing.

Let me know if you'd like to know about other waste products cells produce!
