  • Plant vs. Animal Cells: Identifying Unique Organelles
    The organelle you would expect to find in plant cells but not animal cells is the chloroplast.

    Here's why:

    * Chloroplasts are the sites of photosynthesis, the process by which plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to produce their own food (glucose).

    * Animal cells do not have chloroplasts because they obtain their energy from consuming other organisms (heterotrophs).
