  • Where is DNA Located? Nucleus & Mitochondria Explained
DNA can be found in two main organelles:

    1. Nucleus: This is the primary location of DNA in eukaryotic cells. It contains the majority of the cell's genetic material organized into chromosomes.

    2. Mitochondria: These organelles have their own small, circular DNA molecule, separate from the nuclear DNA. This mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) encodes for some of the proteins involved in mitochondrial function.
