  • Understanding Sex Chromosomes: X and Y Explained
An organism whose nucleus contains the X and Y chromosomes is a male.

    Here's why:

    * Sex Chromosomes: In humans and many other species, sex is determined by a pair of chromosomes called sex chromosomes.

    * Females: Females have two X chromosomes (XX).

    * Males: Males have one X and one Y chromosome (XY).

The Y chromosome carries the genes that trigger male development.
