  • Carl Linnaeus: The Father of Modern Biological Classification
The scientist who first came up with an orderly way to classify living things was Carl Linnaeus.

He developed a system of classification called taxonomy, which is still used today. Linnaeus grouped organisms based on shared physical characteristics, and he used a hierarchical system of classification with categories like kingdom, phylum, class, order, family, genus, and species.
