  • Understanding Cancer: Unregulated Cell Division Explained
The process in which unregulated cell division occurs is called cancer.

    Here's why:

    * Normal cell division: Cells in our bodies have a carefully controlled cycle of growth, division, and death. This process is regulated by genes that control cell growth and division.

    * Cancer: Cancer arises when these genes become damaged or mutated, leading to uncontrolled cell growth and division. This results in the formation of a tumor, a mass of abnormal cells that can spread to other parts of the body.

There are many different types of cancer, each with its own unique characteristics and causes. However, all cancers share the common feature of uncontrolled cell division.
