    It's not quite accurate to say cells have just *three* functions. They are incredibly complex and carry out a vast array of processes. However, we can broadly categorize their functions into three main areas:

    2. Specialized Functions: Different types of cells have specialized roles within a multicellular organism. This includes:

    * Muscle cells: Contracting to produce movement.

    * Nerve cells: Transmitting signals throughout the body.

    * Blood cells: Carrying oxygen, fighting infections.

    * Plant cells: Photosynthesis, structural support.

    3. Interaction with other cells: Cells don't exist in isolation. They interact with each other to form tissues, organs, and entire organisms. This involves:

    * Communication: Sending and receiving signals using chemicals or electrical impulses.

    * Cooperation: Working together to perform complex tasks.

    * Adhesion: Connecting to each other to form structures.

    So, while there isn't a strict list of three functions, these three broad areas encompass the vast array of activities that cells perform.
