  • Microscopes: How They Magnify and Reveal the Invisible
A microscope doesn't *do* anything to an object in the sense of changing it. Instead, it enables us to see things that are too small to be seen with the naked eye. Here's how it works:

    * Magnification: Microscopes use lenses to magnify the image of an object, making it appear larger. This allows us to see details that are invisible to our normal vision.

    * Resolution: Microscopes also improve resolution, which is the ability to distinguish between two closely spaced objects. This is important for seeing fine structures within cells or other microscopic objects.

So, a microscope essentially reveals the hidden world of tiny objects. It doesn't alter the object itself, but rather provides us with a magnified and detailed view of it.
