  • Eukaryotic vs. Prokaryotic Cells: Understanding the Difference
People, and all animals, have eukaryotic cells.

    Here's why:

    * Eukaryotic cells are complex cells with a membrane-bound nucleus containing their DNA. They also have other membrane-bound organelles like mitochondria, endoplasmic reticulum, and Golgi apparatus.

    * Prokaryotic cells are simpler cells that lack a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles. Their DNA is located in a region called the nucleoid.

Prokaryotes include bacteria and archaea. Eukaryotes include animals, plants, fungi, and protists.
