    There isn't a specific scientific name for spit.

    Spit, or saliva, is technically considered a body fluid. It's a complex mixture of water, enzymes, mucus, and other substances.

    While there are names for individual components of saliva (like amylase, the enzyme that breaks down starches), there's no single, official scientific name for the whole mixture we call spit.
