    5. Cell Signaling: Fat cells communicate with other cells in the body, influencing processes like blood sugar control and immune responses.

    6. Structural Support: Fat cells contribute to the structure and shape of the body, particularly in areas like the breasts and buttocks.

    7. Energy Production: Though their primary role is storage, fat cells can also directly contribute to energy production through a process called beta-oxidation.

    8. Cell Differentiation: Fat cells can differentiate into other types of cells, such as bone marrow stromal cells.

    9. Immune Function: Fat cells play a role in immune responses, both by contributing to inflammation and by influencing the development of immune cells.

    10. Reproductive Function: Fat tissue is crucial for proper reproductive function in both males and females.
