  • Understanding Human Body Tissues: A Comprehensive Guide
The four basic tissue types found in the human body are:

    1. Epithelial tissue: This tissue covers the surfaces of the body, lines body cavities and hollow organs, and forms glands. It functions in protection, absorption, secretion, excretion, filtration, diffusion, and sensory reception.

    2. Connective tissue: This tissue supports and binds other tissues together, provides structure and protection, stores energy, and transports substances. Examples include blood, bone, cartilage, and tendons.

    3. Muscle tissue: This tissue is responsible for movement, both voluntary (skeletal muscle) and involuntary (smooth muscle and cardiac muscle).

    4. Nervous tissue: This tissue is responsible for communication within the body. It receives and transmits information in the form of electrical signals. It is composed of neurons and glial cells.
