  • Phloem: The Plant Tissue Responsible for Sucrose Transport
The tissue that transports sucrose in plants is called phloem.

    Here's why:

    * Phloem is a vascular tissue that carries sugars, primarily sucrose, produced during photosynthesis from leaves to other parts of the plant, like roots, stems, and fruits.

    * Xylem is the other vascular tissue, responsible for transporting water and dissolved minerals upwards from the roots to the rest of the plant.
