  • Ribosomes: The Protein Synthesis Powerhouses of the Cell
Proteins are synthesized with the ribosomes.

    Here's why:

    * Ribosomes are the protein factories of the cell. They read the genetic code from messenger RNA (mRNA) and use that information to link amino acids together, forming polypeptide chains.

    * These polypeptide chains then fold into functional proteins.

    * Ribosomes can be found free-floating in the cytoplasm or attached to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER).
