  • Plant vs. Animal Cells: Key Similarities & Differences
Here are 2 similarities and 2 differences between plant and animal cells:

    Similarities:

    1. Both have a cell membrane: This membrane controls what enters and exits the cell, maintaining its internal environment.

    2. Both have ribosomes: These organelles are responsible for protein synthesis, essential for all cellular functions.

    Differences:

    1. Plant cells have a cell wall, animal cells do not: The rigid cell wall provides structural support and protection to the plant cell, allowing it to stand upright and withstand turgor pressure. Animal cells rely on internal cytoskeletal structures for support.

    2. Plant cells have chloroplasts, animal cells do not: Chloroplasts are the sites of photosynthesis, where plants convert sunlight into energy. Animal cells obtain their energy by consuming other organisms.
