Cytoplasm is the gel-like substance that fills the inside of a cell, excluding the nucleus. It's where many of the cell's important processes occur, including:
* Metabolic reactions: Chemical reactions that keep the cell alive happen in the cytoplasm.
* Organelle function: The cytoplasm provides a medium for organelles, like mitochondria and ribosomes, to operate.
* Movement: Some cells use cytoplasmic streaming to move materials around.
So, whether it's a plant cell, animal cell, bacterial cell, or any other type of living cell, you'll find cytoplasm within it.
