  • Kidneys: The Body's Water Reabsorption Powerhouse
The organ that reabsorbs water into the body is the kidneys.

    Here's how it works:

    * Filtration: The kidneys filter blood, removing waste products and excess water. This filtered fluid, called urine, passes through the nephrons (tiny filtering units within the kidneys).

    * Reabsorption: As the urine travels through the nephrons, most of the water, along with valuable nutrients and electrolytes, are reabsorbed back into the bloodstream.

    * Excretion: The remaining waste products and excess water are concentrated and excreted as urine.

The kidneys play a vital role in regulating the body's water balance and maintaining the appropriate electrolyte concentrations in the blood.
