  • Chloroplasts: Found Only in Plant Cells - Why?
    Only plant cells contain chloroplasts.

    Here's why:

    * Chloroplasts are the organelles responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy (sugars).

    * Animal cells do not perform photosynthesis and therefore do not need chloroplasts. They obtain energy from consuming other organisms.
