  • Plant Cell Walls: Structure, Support & Protection
The cell wall is the part of the plant cell that gives it shape and support.

    Here's why:

    * Rigid Structure: The cell wall is made of a tough, fibrous material called cellulose. This material provides a strong, rigid framework that helps maintain the plant's shape, even when it's under pressure from its surroundings.

    * Protection: The cell wall also protects the delicate inner parts of the cell from damage.

    * Water Regulation: The cell wall helps control the movement of water into and out of the cell, preventing it from bursting or collapsing.

While other structures like the cytoskeleton contribute to cell shape and movement, the cell wall is the primary component responsible for providing the overall structural support of the plant cell.
