  • Chloroplasts: Where are They Found? Plant and Algae Cells Explained
Chloroplasts are organelles found only in plant cells and some algae. They are responsible for photosynthesis, the process by which plants convert light energy into chemical energy.

    Here's why:

    * Plant cells are eukaryotic cells that contain a nucleus and other membrane-bound organelles, including chloroplasts.

    * Algae are a diverse group of organisms that include both prokaryotic and eukaryotic forms. Some algae, particularly those that are photosynthetic, possess chloroplasts.

Animal cells and fungal cells do not have chloroplasts. They cannot perform photosynthesis and obtain their energy from consuming other organisms.
