    An organism like a green plant that can make its own food is called an autotroph.

    Here's why:

    * Autotrophs are organisms that can produce their own food from inorganic sources, such as sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water. They do this through a process called photosynthesis.

    * Green plants are a prime example of autotrophs. They use chlorophyll (the pigment that gives them their green color) to capture sunlight and convert it into chemical energy in the form of glucose (sugar).
