  • Rudolf Virchow and the Principle of Omnis Cellula e Cellula
The scientist who famously stated that all cells come from preexisting cells is Rudolf Virchow.

He formulated this principle in 1855, known as Virchow's principle, which revolutionized our understanding of cell biology. He expressed it succinctly as "omnis cellula e cellula" meaning "all cells arise from cells".

Virchow's principle built upon the work of previous scientists like Robert Remak, who observed cell division, and is considered one of the fundamental tenets of modern biology.
