    Protists, being eukaryotes, store their DNA within a nucleus.

    While some protists have a simple, single-celled structure, they still possess a nucleus, which is a membrane-bound organelle that houses their genetic material. This is in contrast to prokaryotes (like bacteria and archaea), which lack a nucleus and have their DNA free-floating in the cytoplasm.
