  • Meiosis Nuclear Division: Understanding the Two Divisions
    The nucleus divides twice during meiosis.

    Here's why:

    * Meiosis I: The first division separates homologous chromosomes, reducing the chromosome number from diploid (2n) to haploid (n).

    * Meiosis II: The second division separates sister chromatids, ensuring each daughter cell receives a complete set of chromosomes.

    So, while there are two rounds of division, the process is considered a single event of meiosis.
