  • Ovary Development: Oocytes, Follicles & Corpus Luteum Explained
The ovary itself doesn't develop into another structure. It remains as the ovary throughout a female's life.

However, within the ovary, the following structures develop:

    * Oocytes: These are immature egg cells that develop within follicles.

    * Follicles: These are structures that surround and nurture the oocytes. They undergo a series of stages of development, culminating in the release of a mature egg (ovulation).

    * Corpus luteum: After ovulation, the follicle transforms into a corpus luteum, which produces hormones like progesterone and estrogen.

Therefore, the ovary is a dynamic organ with structures that develop and change throughout a woman's reproductive life, but the ovary itself remains as the ovary.
