  • Fungus-Like Protists: Shared Characteristics & Reproduction
Two common characteristics of fungus-like protists are:

    1. Heterotrophic nutrition: They obtain nutrients by absorbing organic matter from their surroundings, similar to fungi. They are not able to produce their own food through photosynthesis like plants.

    2. Spore formation: They reproduce by producing spores, which are small, single-celled structures that can survive harsh conditions and germinate into new organisms. This is another characteristic they share with fungi.
