  • Photosynthesis: What Plants Take In (CO2, Water, Light)
The three things that enter the plant during photosynthesis are:

    1. Carbon Dioxide (CO2): This is the source of carbon for building sugars. It enters the plant through tiny pores called stomata on the leaves.

    2. Water (H2O): Water is absorbed from the soil through the roots and transported to the leaves. It provides electrons and hydrogen ions needed for the chemical reactions of photosynthesis.

    3. Light Energy: Sunlight provides the energy that drives the chemical reactions of photosynthesis. It is absorbed by chlorophyll, a pigment in the chloroplasts of plant cells.
