  • Cellular Respiration: Products & Byproducts Explained
The main products of cellular respiration are:

    * ATP (Adenosine triphosphate): This is the primary energy currency of cells. It's produced through the breakdown of glucose and other fuels.

    * Water (H2O): Water is produced as a byproduct of the electron transport chain, the final stage of cellular respiration.

    * Carbon dioxide (CO2): Carbon dioxide is produced during the Krebs cycle, another stage of cellular respiration.

While not a direct product, cellular respiration also regenerates NAD+ and FAD, which are electron carriers essential for the process to continue.
