  • Organelle Abundance in Cells with High Protein Production
If a cell forms large quantities of protein molecules, the following organelles would likely be numerous:

    * Ribosomes: These are the protein synthesis factories of the cell. More ribosomes mean more protein can be produced at a time.

    * Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (RER): The RER is studded with ribosomes. It acts as a network of membranes that transport proteins and modify them as they are being made. A larger RER allows for more efficient protein processing.

    * Golgi Apparatus: This organelle further modifies, sorts, and packages proteins for transport to their final destinations within the cell or outside the cell. A larger Golgi apparatus means the cell can handle the increased protein output.

    * Mitochondria: These organelles are responsible for providing the energy (ATP) needed for cellular processes, including protein synthesis. Increased protein production requires more energy, hence more mitochondria might be present.

In addition to these organelles, the cell might also have a higher concentration of mRNA (messenger RNA) molecules, which carry the genetic code for protein synthesis from the nucleus to the ribosomes.
