  • Chromosomes in Skin Cells: Understanding Human Chromosome Count
This is a bit of a tricky question! Here's why:

    * Chromosomes are in cells, not in tissues: Chromosomes are found inside the nucleus of every individual cell.

    * Skin is a tissue: Skin is made up of many different types of cells.

    * Humans have 46 chromosomes: Each human cell (except for egg and sperm cells) has 46 chromosomes, arranged in 23 pairs.

So, while we can't say how many chromosomes a "skin" has, we can say that each cell in the skin has 46 chromosomes.
