    * Theory: The Theory of Photosynthesis explains how plants use sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide to produce their own food (sugars) and release oxygen as a byproduct. This theory incorporates numerous hypotheses about light absorption, chemical reactions, and energy transfer.

    Therefore, a theory is a higher level of understanding than a hypothesis, and it's built upon the foundation of many confirmed hypotheses.
