  • Chloroplasts: Plant Energy Factories & Animal Energy Sources
    Chloroplasts are organelles that convert light energy to sugars through the process of photosynthesis. They are found only in plants and some algae, not in animals.

    Animals do not have chloroplasts and therefore cannot perform photosynthesis. They obtain their energy by consuming other organisms (plants or animals).
