  • Cell Division Phases: Interphase & Mitosis Explained
The two main phases of cell division are:

    1. Interphase: This is the phase where the cell grows, copies its DNA, and prepares for division. It's the longest phase of the cell cycle.

    2. Mitosis (or Meiosis): This is the phase where the cell's nucleus divides, followed by the division of the cytoplasm (cytokinesis). This results in two daughter cells.

It's important to note that meiosis, which produces gametes (sex cells), is a specialized form of cell division. It involves two rounds of division and produces four daughter cells.
